LaBoube is Curator’s Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Wei-Wen Yu Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures at the Missouri University of Science & Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla). Dr. LaBoube holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. Dr. LaBoube has an extensive background in the design and behavior of cold-formed steel structures. His research and design activities have touched on many facets of cold-formed steel construction to include: cold-formed steel beams, panels, trusses, headers, wall studs as well as bolt, weld, and screw connections. Dr. LaBoube is active in several professional organizations and societies, including a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute’s Committee on Specifications for the North American Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members and chairman of the AISI Committee on Framing Standards. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Missouri.

Dr. Reini Schuster’s contributions as an educator, researcher and specification contributor are unparalleled.
As an educator, Dr. Schuster created and taught a graduate cold-formed steel (CFS) course at the University of Waterloo and co-developed AISI’s one-day CFS course for practitioners, offering the latter course in the United States and Canada. The latter course is now available on demand from CFSEI.
Dr. Schuster’s research interests lie in the area of CFS structures. He supervised a research team that engaged in both experimental and analytical studies, developing solutions that have been adopted as U.S. and Canadian standards and used by structural engineers engaged in the design of CFS structures.
Since 1978, Dr. Schuster has served as the chair of the CSA S136 committee, which writes the Canadian CFS design standard. He has also been involved with the AISI committee on specifications. Dr. Schuster’s work on the two committees led to the creation of the North American Specification. He served as the chair of the AISI North American Specification subcommittee, which is charged with harmonizing the design standards across the continent.
